3- Introduction
The civil war, conflict and violence in Sudan is considered as a main challenge in the way
of achieving the political, economic, social and development objectives. This requires the
choice of a strategy plan that can achieve peaceful solution. The participation of all the
society sectors starting from grassroots should be considered.
Violence and Conflicts, which last for a long period of time more often than not leave a
complex and negative effect in the memory of the people, which creates doubts,
suspicion and lack of confidence among people. This needs special strategy to eliminate
these things and change to normal life, which has to be established in all fields to be able
to provide basic services, livelihoods assets, development and awareness for these
aspects and challenges.
- ADHA Organization Background:
Action on Development and Humanitarian Aid (ADHA) Organization is Non-Political, Non governmental, Non-profit and Voluntary organization Founded by well qualified
Sudanese citizen specialists in Social Development and Humanitarian working in United
State of America State of Texas in year 2020 under the registration number 85-3904989
and has 501c3 status
The Organization has been registered officially as National Organization in Sudan
Since its foundation, ADHA Organization has been working effectively among the
communities towards spreading the message of peace, and disseminates values of
peaceful coexistence, and building capacities to transform conflicts and promoting social
cohesion and integration focusing on capacity building of community actors, natural
resources management, increase access to basic services and providing assets of
livelihoods. ADHA Organization emphasizes on the role of youth, children and women in
Sudan in the sectors activities. The organization activities are community-based oriented
using community development approaches. It works in sectors of (1) Peace Building, (2)
Food Security and Livelihood FSL, (3) Health & Nutrition, (4) Water Sanitation Hygiene
WASH , (5) Education, and Capacity Development. ADHA organization is targeting
beneficiaries from diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
Most of Action on Development and Humanitarian Aid (ADHA) Organization staff and
volunteers trained on peace building & conflict resolution and Alternative to Violence
Projects (AVP). The staff members of (ADHA) Organization have received intensive
training on organizational management in the framework of NGOs, Project Cycle
Management (PCM) and technical issues of ADHA field work .
Philosophy of (ADHA) Organization:
The national non-governmental, on-profit organizations are very important elements of
Sudan civil society. They have been a vital part of the post-conflict development of Sudan
through their contribution in sustaining peace, recovery and development. In addition to
capacity building of community actors, natural resources management, increases access to
basic services and providing assets of livelihoods. With stronger organizational structures,
administrative systems, and project management skills, we hope that Sudanese NGOs will
be able to carry out the long-term recovery and development goals that are needed as well
as Sustainable Development Goals.
The approach used in this document is based on the assumption that reaching sustainable
development goals implies that people can become actors of their own development. This
document, therefore, is based upon a set of common capacity building principles adopted
by ADHA Organization.
